    Brief

The University of Edinburgh is seeking research support through appointed suppliers to advance Scotland's transition to clean heating systems. This project focuses on two key areas: (1) developing and validating clean heat retrofit modelling to understand how existing buildings can be retrofitted with efficient heating solutions, and (2) identifying and characterizing recoverable heat sources that can be captured and reused within buildings and district heating systems. The research will provide evidence-based guidance to support Scotland's heat decarbonization policies and help building owners, heating system designers, and policymakers make informed decisions about transitioning away from fossil fuel heating. Suppliers should have expertise in building energy modelling, heat recovery technologies, retrofit assessment, and/or thermal engineering relevant to the Scottish context.
