Heritage Trails and App Development for Antrim and Newtownabbey

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is seeking an IT services provider to design, build, and maintain a comprehensive digital heritage platform showcasing the Borough's cultural, social, and industrial history. The project includes: five borough-wide driving trails with audio commentary and interactive maps (10-15 locations each), ten local walking trails with audio guides and interpretive content, and linkage to physical signage and printed materials at two Heritage Hubs. The platform must be free, publicly accessible, and inclusive, offering an engaging digital experience for residents and visitors. A sustainable content management system is essential to enable the Council to independently maintain and expand the trails over time. This is a PEACEPLUS funded opportunity. The anticipated project completion and app launch date is July 2027. Following launch, a 3-year maintenance contract will commence, with an option to extend for up to an additional 36 months based on performance review. Suppliers should demonstrate expertise in app development, digital heritage platforms, audio-visual integration, and long-term system maintenance.
