Long-Term Support Contract for Stopped Vehicle Detection Service

National Highways is seeking a long-term through-life support contractor for its Stopped Vehicle Detection (SVD) Service across England's Strategic Road Network (SRN). The SRN comprises over 4,500 miles of motorways and major A roads, carrying one-third of all traffic and two-thirds of freight across the UK. The contract will support approximately 27 operational SVD schemes distributed across 6 regions, each monitored by a Regional Operations Centre. The SVD system comprises approximately 1,310 endpoint devices that detect stopped vehicles and support the safe operation of All Lane Running motorway sections. The successful contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive support services including: maintenance of SVD technology and operational systems, reactive and cyclical maintenance, application improvements, and associated operational support. The contract excludes telecommunications services, which will continue to be provided through the National Roads Telecommunications Service (NRTS).
