UHS Estates Limited (UEL) is conducting a Soft Market Engagement (SME) exercise to gather information about modern ophthalmic equipment and solutions for cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) and vitreoretinal (VR) procedures across its hospital sites. This is a non-binding market survey to understand current technology capabilities, commercial options, consumable pricing structures, and digital integration features available from suppliers. The Trust is particularly interested in learning about different procurement and financing models including Outright Capital Purchase, Managed Equipment Services (MES), Operational/Finance Leasing, and Cost-Per-Procedure (CPP) or Bundled arrangements. This information will help UEL develop its future procurement strategy and business case, taking into account recent changes to NHS accounting standards (IFRS 16) and capital expenditure constraints (CDEL).
