Owner's Engineer for Small Modular Reactor Project

GBE-N seeks an Owner's Engineer (OE) to provide independent assurance and expert oversight for the UK's Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project. The OE will act as a trusted advisor to the Intelligent Customer and Intelligent Client, delivering competent resources across specification, oversight, audit, review, and strategic advice on design, scope, budget, risk, delivery, and contract compliance. The role includes serving as a subject matter expert providing independent technical and delivery Line of Defence 2 assurance on major design and build contracts. This is a strategic, long-term engagement with a maximum contract value of £300 million over an anticipated 14-year term (subject to final negotiation). The exact outturn value and service volumes cannot be precisely predicted due to the project's length, scope uncertainties, and progression through design stages and associated milestones. Contractors should be prepared for variability in work instruction timing and extent.
