Building Control Approver for British Museum Western Range Redevelopment

The British Museum seeks a qualified Registered Building Control Approver to provide professional building control advisory services for the comprehensive redevelopment of the Western Range and related enabling works projects. The Western Range is a 12,000m² estate comprising approximately 7,500m² of gallery space housing the Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece (including Parthenon Sculptures), Rome, and Ancient Assyria and Middle East collections, plus 4,500m² of back-of-house collection storage facilities. This substantial project addresses urgent repair needs while creating an opportunity to reimagine the Museum's future through new galleries, state-of-the-art storage solutions, and contemporary architecture integrated with the site's significant listed buildings. The successful appointee will ensure compliance with building regulations throughout the design and construction phases, coordinate with project stakeholders, and support the delivery of this landmark cultural institution redevelopment.
