    Brief

The Welsh Government is establishing a framework to deliver superfast broadband (30Mbps+) to approximately 29,000 premises across Wales that lack commercial coverage due to high infrastructure costs. The framework will award call-off contracts through competitive selection processes to eligible telecoms suppliers, providing grant funding to bridge the cost gap for connecting underserved communities. The framework comprises two lots: Lot 1 for projects serving 1,000+ premises and Lot 2 for projects under 1,000 premises. Suppliers may apply for either or both lots. Grant funding is VAT-exempt. Eligible premises will be confirmed in individual requests for proposals, with the initial list subject to refinement as other public sector deployments (such as Project Gigabit) progress. The estimated total value represents all potential call-off contracts under the framework and is indicative only.
