GP and Specialist Nurse Services for Mental Health and Learning Disability Inpatient Units

This service provides essential physical health monitoring and screening for inpatient service users with serious mental illness or learning disabilities at Soss Moss Hospital and Greenways Unit. Service users in these facilities often have multiple physical health conditions and shorter life expectancy, and many are admitted from outside the Cheshire area without local GP registration. The successful provider will deliver ongoing primary and specialist nursing care, physical health assessments, and monitoring aligned with current service standards. Better Health Manchester is being considered as the preferred provider based on their experience working with NHS Mental Health Trusts and relevant patient populations. This is a Prior Information Notice under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 for a service level agreement covering three wards. Interested providers must submit representations to cwp.contracts@nhs.net by 11 August 2026. The contract has not yet been formally awarded.
