School Management Information System Integration with NHS Identifier Service - Alpha Testing

The Department for Education is seeking up to two school Management Information System (MIS) suppliers to participate in an Alpha phase testing integration with the Get an Identifier service. This service will enable authorised schools to retrieve NHS numbers and GP details from NHS England's Personal Demographics Service. Participating suppliers will work with up to 10 existing school customers to design, develop, implement and test the required system integration within live environments. Key responsibilities include completing NHS England security and assurance activities, supporting school onboarding and testing, resolving technical issues, and collecting evidence on implementation effort, costs, timescales, data quality and technical barriers. The Alpha aims to generate evidence on technical feasibility, implementation complexity, supplier readiness, operational impact, user value, costs and scalability to inform decisions about any subsequent Beta phase or national rollout. Suppliers should be prepared to produce indicative roadmaps, costs and implementation considerations for future expansion. Funding of up to £150,000 excluding VAT is available per supplier.
