Isles of Scilly Streetlight Safety Inspection and Electrical Testing

The Council of the Isles of Scilly is seeking an experienced contractor to conduct a comprehensive safety condition inspection and electrical compliance testing of its streetlight network comprising 71 units. The streetlight stock includes various types: columns, hinged columns, bulkheads, bracketed and lantern-type fixtures, plus two bollards. This work is essential for the Council to fulfil its legal obligations and implement sustainable asset management practices for its streetlight infrastructure. The successful contractor will perform risk-based condition assessments and electrical compliance testing in close collaboration with National Grid, whose local island-based staff will facilitate access and support electrical testing activities. The Council's operational team currently handles basic repairs such as head replacement for non-mains-connected lights without overhead cable proximity.
