British Sign Language NHS Talking Therapies Services

This opportunity is to deliver specialist mental health talking therapy services designed specifically for Deaf service users who use British Sign Language (BSL). Services include comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions across multiple treatment modalities. Providers must deliver Step 2 and Step 3 interventions, Counselling for Depression (CfD), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and couples therapy. All services must be delivered directly in British Sign Language by qualified practitioners. Providers must also manage associated reporting requirements, governance, and compliance with NHS standards. This is an opportunity to improve mental health outcomes for the Deaf community by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate psychological support.
