Independent Advocacy Services for Adults

Telford & Wrekin Council invites providers to deliver comprehensive independent advocacy services for vulnerable adults aged 16 and over. The service supports individuals who have substantial difficulty in engaging with care, health, and support services, or who lack capacity to make decisions about their care, and who do not have family or appropriate representatives available to support them. This includes services in deprivation of liberty situations. The contract consolidates three key advocacy functions: Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) covering Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Relevant Individual's Representative roles; Care Act Independent Advocacy; and Independent Health Complaints Advocacy. The provider will empower individuals to exercise their rights, make informed choices, and have their wishes respected, while promoting social inclusion, equality, and social justice. Suitable applicants should have experience delivering advocacy services within health, care, and safeguarding contexts.
