Kings Hill School and Nursery, an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school located in West Malling, Kent, is seeking a catering contractor to provide comprehensive food services for approximately 475 students and 78 staff members. The three-year contract runs from January 2027 to December 2030 and operates as a Guaranteed Performance Contract with a fixed annual cost model. Current Service Scope: - Morning breakfast club - Daily lunch service - After-school club meals - Free school meal provision (charged at net food cost) - Service operates 190 school days annually Financial Overview: Estimated annual revenue is approximately £139,868 (2025/26), comprising cash sales (£50,356), free school meals (£77,570), and wrap-around care (£11,941). Key Requirements: - Innovative, healthy menus using fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients prepared on-site - Flexible catering to accommodate diverse pupil tastes and dietary requirements, including SEND support - Transparent pricing breakdown including food costs, labour, management fees, overheads, and margins - Demonstration of school values alignment: safeguarding, inclusivity, and healthy lifestyle promotion - Significant social value contribution including employment/training opportunities, community engagement, and sustainability initiatives - Optional capital investment proposals to enhance the dining environment and service delivery The school prioritises value for money and is not obliged to accept the lowest bid.
