Radiation Protection and Medical Physics Expert Services for HSE Mid-West Hospitals

Acute Hospitals Mid-West (AHMW), part of the Health Service Executive (HSE), is seeking outsourced Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) and Medical Physics Expert (MPE) services to support medical imaging operations across six facilities: University Hospital Limerick, University Maternity Hospital Limerick, Croom Orthopaedic Hospital, Ennis General Hospital, Nenagh General Hospital, and St. John's Hospital. This procurement will provide specialized expertise and capacity to ensure compliance with Irish radiation protection regulations (SI 256 2018 and SI 30 2019) and support ionising radiation safety standards. The service scope covers specific medical physics and radiation protection functions where internal resources or specialist expertise are insufficient. AHMW will structure this opportunity into multiple lots, allowing suppliers to bid for individual lots or combinations of services. This approach promotes market competition and ensures service continuity across the hospital network.
