Prison Reading Support Program - Peer Mentoring at HMP Bristol

This is a call-off contract opportunity under the Prison Education Dynamic Purchasing System to deliver reading support services at HMP Bristol. The successful supplier will design and implement a peer mentoring program to encourage prisoners to develop reading and literacy skills. Key responsibilities include: establishing and promoting the peer mentoring pathway as part of the prison's reading strategy; recruiting, training, and supporting peer mentors from the prisoner population; deploying mentors across all residential units, education departments, industrial workshops, and activity areas; ensuring staff and prisoners understand and actively support the program; and measuring engagement with reading and literacy initiatives. This role requires experience in prison education, peer mentoring program design, staff coordination, and ability to work within a secure custodial environment.
