    Brief

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is seeking an independent evaluator to assess the new Legal Support grant programme, which will be administered by the Access to Justice Foundation. This three-year evaluation (July 2026 to March 2029) is critical to understanding the effectiveness and impact of MoJ's legal support policy. The programme aims to create a more effective, efficient, and sustainable legal support system that provides individuals with access to information, early legal help, community-based support, and digital tools to resolve legal issues early and engage confidently with services. The successful evaluator will assess how well the programme meets these objectives and delivers outcomes. The evaluation budget is approximately £1 million. Organisations with experience in programme evaluation, legal services research, and policy impact assessment are encouraged to apply.
