    Brief

The University of Plymouth seeks an occupational health service provider to conduct health screening and fitness-to-practise assessments for approximately 1,800 learners annually on professional health and social care courses. The provider will serve locations in Plymouth (1,730 learners), Exeter (30), and Truro (40), with peak demand between March and September. Key responsibilities include: administering occupational health screening forms during admissions; conducting interviews to assess learner suitability and identify necessary adjustments; scheduling and managing follow-up appointments; notifying the Faculty of missed appointments; providing repeat screening for returning learners; and reporting any health or capability issues that could affect practical training participation. The provider must deliver clear, unambiguous recommendations on learners' suitability to work in healthcare environments (hospitals, clinics, and community settings) and any required limitations or adjustments to ensure patient and learner safety. Recommendations must comply with NHS and independent healthcare provider professional standards and will be reviewed by the Faculty for feasibility. Learner numbers may fluctuate based on commissioning and recruitment changes.
