Public Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure for Lancashire

Lancashire County Authority is seeking an experienced Charging Point Operator (CPO) to design, install, and deliver a countywide network of public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The project is funded by £10.1 million from the UK government's Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Capital fund and £400,000 from the LEVI Pilot fund, totaling £10.511 million in available investment. The successful contractor will be responsible for deploying charging sockets across both commercially viable and underserved areas of the county, with a target of at least 6,200 sockets by 2030 and potential expansion to 11,000 sockets by 2035. The tender includes a mandatory pilot project for lamppost-integrated charging points to ensure consistent EV infrastructure provision. This is a single-lot, countywide contract requiring significant technical expertise, operational capacity, and the ability to deliver at scale. The exact number and type of chargepoints (ranging from 7kW to 50kW+ technology) will be determined through the tender evaluation process.
