    Brief

Rutland County Council invites qualified suppliers to design, build, and install a permanent gallery at Rutland Museum interpreting the region's history from the Stone Age to the Anglo-Saxon period. The 195 m² gallery will feature a prominent Roman section with a digital interpretation area (60 m²) showcasing the nationally significant Ketton Roman Mosaic. This is the second phase of the 'Digging Rutland' exhibition series, following the Mid Jurassic gallery. The successful supplier will provide complete end-to-end services including creative design, technical development, fabrication, installation, and commissioning to create an accessible, engaging, and durable visitor experience. The project must be completed within 6 to 7 months, with opening scheduled for January 2027. The gallery is funded through UK Government Levelling Up funds and will be part of the wider Rutland County Museum transformation, which includes a new entrance, café, retail area, and dedicated ichthyosaur gallery. A full list of artifacts for inclusion is provided in the tender documentation. The contract will be delivered under JCT Design & Build Contract 2024 (DB2024) terms with a budget of £450,000 excluding VAT. Tender documents are available through East Midlands Tenders (Project ID: DN813277) via Welland Procurement.
