Feasibility Study for Gas Infrastructure Diversion - DLR Thamesmead Extension

This contract involves conducting a Feasibility Design and Options Study (C3 stage) to assess and plan the diversion of gas infrastructure required for the proposed DLR Thamesmead Extension project. The extension route intersects a critical section of Cadent's London gas network, which includes high, intermediate, and medium-pressure gas mains, the Beckton Above Ground Installation, and associated pressure reduction facilities. These assets represent significant technical and programme risks that must be carefully managed. The study will deliver a comprehensive desktop-based assessment of all potential gas main diversion options and Above Ground Installation rationalisation requirements aligned with the current extension design. Key deliverables include options development and evaluation, engagement of a Cadent-approved design house, preliminary material assessments, high-level cost estimates for subsequent phases, and establishment of a dedicated multi-disciplinary project management team to coordinate technical interfaces and stakeholder engagement. The estimated contract value is £1,594,000.
