Major Projects Partnership - Supplier Market Engagement for Electricity Distribution Works

National Grid is seeking to identify and engage potential suppliers for the Major Projects Partnership and Major Projects QUDM framework, which will deliver critical infrastructure upgrades across Britain's electricity distribution network during the ED3 price control period (2028-2033). This opportunity covers four main categories of specialized works: Substation Construction (£200k-£5m projects including new builds, extensions, and major asset replacements); Overhead Tower Line Construction (£500k-£20m projects including consultation, enabling works, and landscaping); Overhead Wood Pole Line Construction (£50k-£2m projects for pole supply and installation); and Underground Cabling works (£200k-£10m projects including cable jointing, pulling, and removal). Contractors may also tender for multi-disciplinary works combining multiple service areas. All work is primarily on 33-132kV networks across all four National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) license areas, with regional or national appointment possible. Works require expertise in procurement management, subcontractor coordination, civil engineering, electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and compliance with CDM regulations. Successful suppliers must be capable of managing complex stakeholder engagement, design coordination, site management, and strict adherence to National Grid standards and procedures.
