    Brief

The British Army requires continued support for its Live Fire Monitoring Equipment (LFME), a specialized training system integrated with Challenger 2 tank platforms since 1991. This follow-on contract will provide Contractor Logistic Support (CLS), Post Design Services (PDS), and obsolescence management from 1 April 2027. The LFME enables Individual and Collective Training at Levels 1 and 2, supporting progression to Annual Crew Tests (ACT) and Annual Troop Assessments (ATA). The contract will run for an initial one-year period with options to extend for up to four additional years, with an estimated total value of £4.5 million (excluding VAT). This is a Category D project classified under the Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR) 2014 and will be awarded directly to KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG (KNDS), the Original Equipment Manufacturer and incumbent provider, through an Invitation to Negotiate (ITN) process in accordance with Section 41 of the Procurement Act 2023.
