Design and Deliver E-Learning for Surveying Graduates

The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking a supplier to design and deliver an introductory e-learning course for graduates joining the Pathways to Planning Surveying Strand, a graduate recruitment and development programme that places approximately 50 surveyors into local authority roles. The programme, expanded in October 2025, supports councils in building surveying and construction expertise by offering graduates fully-funded, accredited postgraduate qualifications (recognised by RICS, CABE, or CIOB) alongside practical workplace experience. The e-learning course should provide an accessible, engaging foundation for participants before they begin their placements and master's studies, introducing them to the surveying profession, key terminology, professional roles and expectations, and how to maximise development opportunities. Since many participants hold degrees in unrelated fields with limited surveying knowledge, the course must be easy to understand and focus on broad professional orientation rather than detailed technical training, which will be delivered through university studies and workplace experience. The successful supplier will contribute to developing a skilled, sustainable surveying workforce within local government, supporting the Government's ambition to deliver 1.5 million homes and addressing critical workforce shortages in local authorities.
