    Brief

Dorset Council is hosting a market engagement event on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2-3 PM via Microsoft Teams to discuss the future development of building-based short break services for working-age adults (18-64) and older adults with compatible needs. The Council is exploring an integrated service model that combines planned short breaks with unplanned/crisis services, including hospital step-up and step-down provision. This engagement seeks provider input on service coordination, delivery models, and how short breaks can develop independent living skills and resilience. The primary cohort includes adults with Care Act eligible needs related to learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, sensory needs, and neurodivergence. The Council is also interested in insights on serving young people aged 16-17 transitioning to adult social care. Participation is voluntary and will not affect future procurement opportunities. To register, use the link in Additional Information; those unable to attend can request a recording by emailing accommodationwithsupport@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk. This early-stage engagement may or may not result in a future contract opportunity.
