    Brief

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) is seeking occupational health medical services providers to discuss appointment booking and management solutions. The current contract expires October 31, 2027. DSFRS will launch a competitive procurement process in November 2026 for a new contract with an initial 4-year term and optional extension up to 10 years. This market engagement invitation allows suppliers to present their appointment management systems and processes before the formal tender stage. DSFRS requires solutions that enable staff to self-book, view, and reschedule appointments while providing administrative oversight to the internal People Services Department. Key challenges include accommodating 808 on-call firefighters with external employment and varying availability. DSFRS is interested in learning about: self-booking tools and apps for medical appointments involving multiple clinicians; staff reminder systems; engagement strategies for non-responsive staff; reporting and scheduling information for contract management; and additional technology supporting efficient appointment management. Suppliers are invited to discuss and demonstrate their systems to help inform DSFRS's procurement requirements and evaluation criteria.
