Welsh Transport Network Accessibility Analysis Tool Development

Transport for Wales is seeking a research and design partner to develop an analytical tool that measures and quantifies accessibility and opportunity levels across the Welsh transport network. The project will deliver a computational algorithm and model capable of performing proximity analysis and access-to-opportunity analysis for Bus and Rail networks. An MVP prototype with a user-friendly front-end interface will also be created, capable of processing industry-standard network file formats. This direct award opportunity is justified as a prototype development project under Schedule 5 (Section 41) of the Procurement Act 2023. The successful partner will enhance Transport for Wales' analytical capabilities through specialized academic expertise in computational modelling, with the complexity and skills required making the partner uniquely positioned to deliver this specialized solution.
