    Brief

Bath & North East Somerset Council is establishing a flexible framework to deliver homecare services to older people across the region. The framework will provide: long-term social care support for ongoing needs; short-term care to facilitate safe hospital discharge; and admission avoidance services to help people remain in their own homes. As of October 2027, the Council anticipates commissioning approximately 8,000 hours of homecare per week across all funding streams, with growth expected in line with demographic changes and increasing demand. This is an opportunity for homecare providers to join a dynamic framework supporting vulnerable older people in the community.
