The UK Space Agency's Unlocking Space for Government programme is funding research and development to help NHS trusts tackle overheating in their buildings using satellite technology and data. This opportunity invites suppliers, researchers, and organisations to develop innovative satellite-enabled products and services that enable NHS Estates teams to identify, prioritise, and manage heat and humidity risks across their facilities. The funding will combine satellite data with NHS information and supplier data to improve existing heat analysis and thermal modelling methods. A Contract for Innovation is one of the potential delivery routes. A market engagement webinar on Tuesday 10 November 2026 (11:00-12:00 UK time, online via Microsoft Teams) will present the challenge, outline the funding approach with indicative timescales and scope, and invite participants to share existing capabilities and research priorities. This webinar is part of pre-funding market engagement under the Procurement Act 2023 and provides an open opportunity for the market to help shape the final scope and route to market before a funding competition is launched.
