Alternative Education Framework Re-commissioning – Market Engagement

Central Bedfordshire Council and Bedford Borough Council are conducting a Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) exercise to gather provider feedback on re-commissioning an Alternative Education Provision Framework set to launch in September 2027. This framework will deliver tailored educational support for children and young people who need specialized interventions, encompassing online and face-to-face tuition, vocational training, alternative curriculum options, mentoring and outreach services, and enrichment activities. The councils are inviting education and training providers to share their experience, capacity, and insights to help shape the framework's structure, service requirements, pricing models, and delivery mechanisms. This is a Request for Information (RFI) stage; providers should not submit formal bids at this time but are encouraged to express interest and provide feedback to influence the upcoming formal procurement process.
