Emergency Housing Support for Homeless Families

This opportunity provides temporary and emergency accommodation services specifically for homeless families, along with comprehensive support to help them transition to permanent housing. The service must deliver safe, suitable emergency and temporary accommodation through effective housing management to help the local authority meet its legal obligations under homelessness legislation (sections 188, 189b, and 193 of the Housing Act 1996). The primary outcomes expected are: (1) providing secure emergency or temporary accommodation that meets housing standards and supports statutory duties, and (2) securing permanent tenancies for households as quickly as possible to enable exit from temporary accommodation and fulfil the authority's obligation to end homelessness relief duties with a positive housing outcome. Successful providers will combine accommodation provision with tailored support services to help families stabilize and move toward independent living.
