Construction Logistics Advisor for British Museum Western Range Redevelopment

The British Museum seeks a Construction Logistics Advisor to develop and coordinate comprehensive logistics strategies for the Western Range Programme, a major redevelopment of approximately 15,000m² (15% of the Bloomsbury site) comprising 10 buildings that house the Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Rome, and Ancient Assyria collections along with back-of-house storage. This complex project requires expert guidance to navigate challenges including heritage conservation constraints, restricted site access, neighbouring property interfaces, and the need to maintain full operational continuity for a living cultural institution serving six million annual visitors. The Advisor will lead the development of construction logistics strategies, phasing plans, and buildability assessments throughout design stages, with optional packages available for procurement support, construction-phase advice, and specialized guidance on large object and collection decant operations. The role demands coordination across multiple stakeholders including the Client, Project Team, construction marketplace, and heritage authorities to minimize disruption while protecting irreplaceable collections and ensuring safe visitor and staff access throughout the construction period.
