River Restoration and Wetland Creation Project at Foresters Lodge

This opportunity seeks an experienced Environmental Contractor to undertake comprehensive river restoration and wetland creation works at Foresters Lodge. The project includes: creating a two-stage floodplain and sinuous channel on the right bank of the watercourse to reduce channel incision and manage erosive forces during high flows; installing in-channel woody deflectors made from felled trees and root plates to divert water into the floodplain during major flood events; excavating floodplain scrapes and pools to improve habitat and sediment deposition; and creating a series of contoured swales across the wider site to capture hillslope drainage and redirect existing drains and springs. These integrated features are designed to reduce flood impacts, promote natural sediment management, improve water retention during dry periods, and increase climate resilience of the watercourse and surrounding habitat. All works will be completed according to the detailed Design Report provided in supporting documentation.
