    Brief

The Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority is seeking a feasibility study to evaluate the potential for water-based transport to enhance connectivity, support sustainable travel, and drive economic growth across the region. The study will assess the viability of water-based transport services using Greater Lincolnshire's existing waterway network, including the River Witham and Fossdyke Canal, drawing on successful examples like seasonal passenger services in Spalding. The successful contractor will conduct a robust assessment to: identify whether water-based transport can play a meaningful role in the transport network; determine the most promising use cases and locations; and evaluate pilot opportunities, particularly around Lincoln. The study should explore innovative concepts such as 'park and float' schemes and integration with active travel modes. An option to extend the contract for additional work directly resulting from the feasibility study findings is available.
