Healthcare waste management service for primary care providers in NHS Devon

NHS Devon Integrated Care Board is seeking a qualified provider to deliver comprehensive healthcare waste collection and disposal services for general practices and community pharmacies across the region. Scope of Services: • Collection and transportation of healthcare and pharmaceutical waste • Secure storage facilities for healthcare and pharmaceutical waste • Treatment and incineration of all waste types • Supply and management of reusable and single-use waste containers • Decontamination services for reusable containers • Waste segregation support and compliance guidance • Waste tracking systems and Duty of Care documentation Contract Details: • Annual budget: £1,100,000 (exclusive of VAT) • Initial contract term: 5 years (£5,500,000 total value) • Extension options: Up to 4 additional years (2 x 24-month periods) at Commissioner's discretion • Maximum contract value over 9 years: £9,900,000 (exclusive of VAT) • Service start date: 1 October 2026 • Mobilisation period: 15 June 2026 onwards • TUPE does not apply to this service Note: This procurement is being managed by NHS South, Central & West (SCW) on behalf of NHS Devon ICB.
