Cullompton Town Centre Relief Road Construction Project

This is a major road construction project in Devon involving the design and build of a new 1.3km bypass road around Cullompton town centre, connecting Station Road and Exeter Road via Meadow Lane. The relief road will be approximately 6.5 metres wide with a 2-metre footway and will include a new roundabout junction, five access junctions, and significant associated works. Key construction elements include: realignment of Meadow Lane and Duke Street; one road bridge over Spratford Mill Stream; multiple flood relief culverts and attenuation ponds for surface water drainage; demolition and replacement of sporting facilities (bowls club and football club); construction of shared use paths and public open space improvements; utility diversionary works coordination; and street lighting installation with 39 columns. The project is procured via open tender using the NEC4 ECC Option A contract form. Tenderers must provide detailed activity schedules based on their own quantity take-offs.
