Urban Greening Marketplace Development

Nature Towns and Cities is a coalition of organizations, including the National Trust, Natural England, and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, dedicated to enhancing urban green spaces in the UK. Our goal is to encourage towns and cities to take significant action to improve access to nature, thereby benefiting public health and addressing climate change. We aim to create a vibrant urban greening marketplace that facilitates private funding for green initiatives. This project involves developing an online platform where urban greening projects, such as street tree planting, can be tokenized and funded. The initial phase will focus on creating a prototype of this marketplace, showcasing theoretical tokens for urban trees. The prototype should allow users to view token details, including pricing, environmental benefits, and images, as well as enabling users to bundle tokens for purchase. Additionally, we seek to establish a minimum viable product for the marketplace, building on an existing platform provided by the supplier. Interested suppliers should submit a project proposal outlining their approach, relevant experience, a budget breakdown, and their capacity for long-term service provision (approximately 25 months).
