Brief
The Hospital is seeking to acquire a high-performance ophthalmic microscope to optimally meet the surgical needs of the Ophthalmology Service for both anterior and posterior segment interventions. The new equipment must ensure clear and precise visualization of the surgical field, enabling the lead surgeon and the assisting team to perform complex procedures with maximum safety, effectiveness, and ergonomics. Specifically, an ophthalmic microscope is required for anterior and posterior segment surgeries, equipped with a surgical assistant for the implantation of intraocular lenses, and featuring 3D digital visualization in 4K resolution along with an integrated intraoperative OCT system. The acquisition of this equipment aims to: Improve surgical safety and precision, especially in high-complexity surgeries such as retina, vitreous, and cataracts. Facilitate intraoperative collaboration through a system that allows the surgical assistant to manipulate and adjust the microscope and assist in the implantation of intraocular lenses. Optimize training and education, thanks to large-format 3D visualization, enabling the entire team to observe the surgery in real-time with the highest image quality. Enhance intraoperative diagnostic quality through the integration of a live OCT system, providing real-time structural information for surgical decision-making. Adapt to the specific needs of each procedure and user through programmable and configurable systems, multiprogrammable foot control, advanced ergonomics, and equipment stability in the operating room. Ultimately, the acquisition of this microscope will enable the Hospital to have cutting-edge technology that meets current standards in ophthalmic surgery, contributing to improved quality of care, patient safety, and efficiency in the surgical block. This contract aims to fulfill the institutional objectives of the public health system (Royal Decree 1030/2006, of September 15) and is part of the Investment Plan for Specialized Care, approved by the Health Department for the Alicante General Hospital, fiscal year 2025, thus confirming the necessity and suitability of the contract and efficiency in procurement, in accordance with Article 28 of the LCSP. This supply is not included in the centralized procurement procedures outlined in Decree 11/2020, of January 24, by the Consell regulating the Central Purchasing in the Valencian public health sector.
