    Brief

This project aims to improve the use of riometer observations (cosmic noise absorption measurement instruments) in the Optimised D-Region Absorption Model (ODRAM), which is used for space weather forecasting and operations. Currently, riometer data quality varies significantly, and existing quality guidance from instrument manufacturers is often insufficient for operational use. The project will: (1) develop an automated quality assessment system that flags riometer observations as either suitable ('use') or unsuitable ('do not use') for operational integration, and (2) evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of incorporating quality-assessed riometer data into ODRAM for real-time space weather operations. This work bridges the gap between research observations and operational space weather services, ensuring reliable data feeds for critical infrastructure protection and space weather decision-making.
