    Brief

The University Hospital Basel (USB) is planning to renew its surgical image data management system (BDMS) and replace surgical lights (OPL) in all operating rooms (East and West), as well as replace the ceiling supply units (DVE) in the West area. The goal of this project is to procure modern, future-oriented, and cross-compatible solutions that ensure high image quality, optimal working conditions, and maximum patient safety. A key focus is on the seamless integration of the new image data management system into the existing PACS to ensure structured, secure, and standardized archiving of all image and video data generated in the operating room. The new surgical lights and ceiling supply units should also provide ergonomic, hygienic, and workflow-oriented improvements and be technically coordinated. The hospital places particular emphasis on robust, economically viable, and long-term operable solutions that ensure reliable operation, low lifecycle costs, and sustainable expandability. This aims to create a future-proof, digitally connected, and operationally stable surgical environment. The tender will be issued in three separate lots to allow for clear structuring of the procurement process and to meet the specific technical requirements of each component. This way, optimal solutions can be evaluated for each lot – consisting of (1) surgical image data management, (2) surgical lights, and (3) ceiling supply units – allowing targeted engagement with suppliers and achieving the best possible economic and technical results.
