Children's Occupational Therapy Service in Hackney

Hackney Council is seeking an occupational therapy service provider to deliver evidence-based interventions supporting children with illnesses or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to participate in everyday activities including self-care, learning, writing, and play. The service will provide direct clinical support to children while building capacity within schools and families through training and consultation. Occupational Therapists will be integrated into Hackney's Virtual School and Disabled Children's Service, and will participate in the Department for Education's Experts at Hand initiative—a national program that connects mainstream education settings with health professionals to enhance SEND support capabilities. The successful provider will deliver flexible, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions and professional development. Contract commences 1 April 2027 for an initial 3-year term with two optional 1-year extensions (maximum 5 years total). Providers should demonstrate experience in paediatric occupational therapy, SEND support, school-based interventions, and building professional capacity.
