South Gosforth Control Centre Design and Build Refurbishment

Nexus is seeking a contractor to design and build a comprehensive refurbishment of the South Gosforth Control Centre, a facility built in 1980 that must remain operational 24/7 throughout the project. The refurbishment aims to create a modern, fit-for-purpose working environment aligned with Nexus Places principles while addressing compliance and asset renewal needs. Key works include accessibility improvements, roof and drainage upgrades, enhanced fire detection and protection systems, electrical and ventilation system upgrades, security system enhancements including CCTV, internal reconfiguration with glass and soundproofed partitions, improved welfare and canteen facilities, additional meeting and breakout spaces, and ICT infrastructure upgrades. The contractor must manage traffic and street furniture improvements while maintaining continuous building operations. This is a pre-market engagement to identify qualified suppliers capable of delivering complex refurbishment work in an occupied operational facility.
