Germany – Water Construction Works – Restoration of the Banks of the North-East Canal, BA 2 in the Canal Area from Kkm 5 to 75

This contract involves the restoration of the underwater slope profile in approximately 51 damaged bank areas of varying lengths between canal kilometers 5 (Averlak / Kudensee) and 75 (Sehestedt) on both sides of the NOK. The work includes the delivery and installation of 24,000 tons of water construction stones (natural stone, LMB 60) to create a riprap wall to secure the upper bank area during excavation (Construction Phase 1), excavation of demolition edges and overhangs including profiling according to the target profile (Construction Phase 2), delivery and installation of 60,000 tons of sand-gravel mixture (filter stage 1 according to BAW recommendation) to fill soil deficiencies (Construction Phase 3), delivery and installation of 35,000 tons of gravel-stone mixture (filter stage 2 according to BAW recommendation) for covering and erosion protection of filter stage 1 (Construction Phase 4), delivery and installation of 80,000 tons of natural stone with high stability for filling extensive deficiencies primarily of priority II (Construction Phase 4), delivery and installation of 23,000 tons of water construction stones (natural stone, LMB 60) to secure and cover the filling areas in case of priority I damages (Construction Phase 5), installation of 1,000 m² of bank protection mats for erosion protection of non-load-bearing soils, as well as excavation and profiling of excess soil on the underwater slope, including success control of all work steps via surveying plans.
