Nuremberg Martin Luther School Reconstruction Project

The Nuremberg City Mission is planning the construction of a new Martin Luther School, which will serve as a private support center focusing on emotional and social development. Before the new school is built, the school community will temporarily relocate to a container facility located approximately 500 meters from the new site. After the temporary facility is used for about 3.5 years (from August 2029 to December 2032), it will be dismantled. This project is funded by the Government of Middle Franconia. The new school will accommodate around 120 students across 12 classes, with outdoor facilities covering approximately 8,300 m². Key areas include a heavily renovated area of about 3,700 m² (entrance, playground, play areas) and an extensively renovated area of about 4,600 m² (biotope, forest, etc.). The school building will have a green roof covering approximately 1,800 m². The estimated costs for the school construction, including ancillary construction costs, are around €2 million. The results from the initial planning phases (LP1 and LP2) will be provided in the second stage of the process. The temporary container facility will also accommodate around 120 students across 12 classes, with outdoor facilities covering approximately 4,400 m² and a footprint of about 1,800 m². The estimated costs for the temporary facility, including ancillary construction costs, are around €460,000. The project will be awarded in stages, starting with basic services up to LP4 to facilitate necessary approvals and funding. The contract will use standard forms as per HAV-KOM. Key dates include: Start of services: July 2025; Container facility construction: October 2028 – July 2029; Container facility usage: August 2029 – December 2032; Container facility dismantling: by March 2033; School construction: January 2029 – September 2032; Outdoor facilities for the school: July 2032 – December 2032.
