API Management Solution Procurement

The current contract for IBM's API Connect solution will automatically expire on December 31, 2026. This means that starting January 1, 2027, the client will no longer be able to use API Connect, and the services will cease. Since there is a continued need for an API management solution after this date, the client must conduct a functional procurement process. The new procurement may result in a different API management solution than IBM's API Connect. Therefore, the client must account for a period for the realization, configuration, and migration to a new solution. It has been decided to publish a tender by the second quarter of 2025, considering one year for the realization of the new solution and an additional six months for migrating from IBM's API Connect to the new solution. The first year is expected to handle approximately 5 million messages and 10 APIs, which is relatively certain within the client. These 5 million messages and 10 APIs are anticipated to grow to approximately 10-15 billion messages and 600-1000 APIs per year over the contract's duration, depending on the speed of the promised growth within the client.
