Soil Surveys for HS2 Project

Balfour Beatty Vinci HS2 (BBV) is looking for a subcontractor to conduct soil surveys and develop aftercare management plans for agricultural land parcels in the IPT Area North, specifically Sectors N1 and N2. These land parcels have been temporarily acquired for the construction of the HS2 railway and will be restored to their original condition post-construction. The subcontractor will perform post-reinstatement soil surveys to ensure that the land meets pre-construction standards, which is essential for the handover process to agricultural landowners. The surveys must be conducted by a qualified soil specialist familiar with the Soil Survey Field Handbook and who meets the British Society of Soil Science ALC Competency Standards. Additionally, the subcontractor will need to create an aftercare management plan addressing any issues that may arise during the five-year aftercare period, ensuring that the land can be returned to its original agricultural land classification. The subcontractor may also be tasked with conducting non-intrusive visual drainage surveys to identify existing drainage systems and recommend necessary remediation measures.
