Belgium – Maintenance of Main Roads – A12 & R0 - Structural Maintenance

This project involves various components focusing on the A12 and R0 north of Brussels. For the A12, repairs will be made to the road surface between kilometers 4.7 and 11.6 in Meise. The right lane in both directions will be replaced with reinforced concrete, and the entire A12 will receive a new asphalt top layer across its full width. Additionally, improvements will be made to the water drainage of the road between kilometers 5.2 and 4.7 (towards Brussels), including adjustments to the cross-section, work on drainage wells, and earthworks. Finally, safety improvements will be implemented, such as shielding obstacles, disconnecting local accesses to the A12 from the underlying road network, and bringing existing safety structures up to standard. For the R0, the work mainly consists of asphalt works between Vilvoorde and Groot-Bijgaarden. Maintenance will be performed on the road surface, where the existing top layer will be milled and replaced with a new asphalt layer. The selected locations are spread across the entire Vilvoorde – Grimbergen – Wemmel – Zellik area, between the R0 x E19 (Machelen) and R0 x E40 (Groot-Bijgaarden) complexes. At the Machelen complex, the replacement of the top layer will also include necessary repair work on the waterproofing of the E19 x R0 connection.
