Birmingham Community Equipment Loan Service Provider

Birmingham City Council and Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board seek a single organisation to deliver a Community Equipment Loan Service in Birmingham from 1st April 2027. The service will enable residents to maintain independence at home while supporting Health and Social Care Services to operate efficiently, preventing complex needs and protecting service users and carers from harm. The initial contract runs for 5 years with an optional 5-year extension subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. TUPE applies to this contract, with confidentiality agreements required before TUPE information is released. The contract may be modified based on future commissioning activities across the Council, Birmingham Children's Trust, and partner organisations. Identified potential modifications include: Dynamic Pressure Mattresses (up to £1m annually), Solihull Community Equipment Loans Service (£1.9m annually), and Birmingham Technology Enabled Care (£3.8m annually), with a combined potential value of up to £67m.
