Field Ecologists Framework for Peatland Restoration in Scotland

NatureScot is seeking Field Ecologists to support peatland restoration projects across Scotland as part of the Peatland ACTION programme, funded by the Scottish Government. The successful contractors will conduct species and ecological surveys at restoration sites, working alongside the Peatland ACTION Technical Team and Project Officers distributed throughout Scotland. This is a framework opportunity open to qualified ecological professionals who can provide surveying expertise to help restore degraded peatlands. Peatland ACTION has already restored over 66,000 hectares since 2012 and supports landowners and managers in undertaking on-the-ground restoration activities. Healthy peatlands provide critical ecosystem services including carbon sequestration, biodiversity support, water quality improvement, and natural flood management. There are no geographical restrictions, making this opportunity available across all of Scotland. Contractors should be prepared to support multiple restoration sites and work collaboratively with the delivery partnership, which includes Cairngorms National Park Authority, Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park Authority, Forestry and Land Scotland, and Scottish Water.
