British Sign Language Talking Therapies Service for South East London

South East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) is commissioning a British Sign Language (BSL) Talking Therapies service to provide mental health support for Deaf adults experiencing depression and anxiety. This service will deliver evidence-based psychological interventions delivered by BSL-fluent therapists across the six boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark. The service aims to improve access to NHS talking therapies for Deaf BSL users who previously had limited options. This is a new commissioning opportunity following the end of a nationally-funded pilot program in February 2025. The contract is valued at up to £330,000 over a maximum of 3 years. Suppliers should have experience delivering mental health services to Deaf communities, BSL language provision, and understanding of accessibility requirements for Deaf service users.
