    Brief

The Food Standards Authority (FSA) is seeking a research partner to evaluate innovative environmental surveillance methods for detecting foodborne disease (FBD) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The project will test the effectiveness of combining One Sample Many Analyses (OSMA) - a multi-parameter testing approach - with On Site Diagnostic (OSD) technologies using existing environmental samples collected across government. The successful supplier will deliver a phased research programme that assesses the feasibility, operational benefits, and cost-effectiveness of these combined approaches compared to traditional laboratory-based surveillance conducted by individual organizations. This is a research and evidence generation project focused on determining the added value of OSMA and OSD methods, identifying where they work best, and supporting decision-making for potential future deployment. The supplier should have expertise in environmental surveillance, foodborne pathogen detection, antimicrobial resistance testing, One Health approaches, and health technology evaluation.
